We just put our Tear Detection device through its paces – and it works even better than expected. The device is built from a tiny USB camera and a Seek Thermal Compact thermal imaging camera. Both cameras are connected to a Windows based laptop (the Seek via an USB OTG cable). Thanks to Joe-C’s ThermoVision application (Joe: Thanks for compiling a custom version of ThermoVision for us) we are now able to obtain streaming data of (area averaged, or point based) temperature differences between selectable areas of the face and eye. Conveniently, ThermoVision even enables us to save regular and thermal images continuously, through user interaction, or programmatically.
